Dumb, but I chuckled. The design is pretty good, and the short didn't last TOO much longer than it should have.

Yes I know, it is pretty dumb, the funny thing is that my girlfriend actually said that.
Glad you enjoyed it man. Thanks for letting me know. Happy new year!!!!
Pros: Interesting characters, good balance between bleak and hopeful, solid springboard for more episodes. The writing is really strong, and some of the voice acting is super on point. I laughed out-loud a few times (mostly at skull fucker jokes)
Cons: Awkward angles/perspectives which take me out of it, confusing compositions, varied voice actors with questionable audio quality. Audio is more than half an image, and less forgivable than iffy visuals. The more you polish technical issues, the smoother the audience experience, and the stronger the effect. Think of it like lubricating the tracks on an amusement park ride. Rough visuals and bad sound are bumps that distract from the immersion
Visuals are pretty nice, but if one character sounds like a voice actor sitting in a an echoe-y bathroom, that kind of throws a wrench into everything else...
Step 1: Chop wood
Step 2: Mine Gold
Step 3: ????
Step 4: Profit
Step 5: Strip Club
(Seriously, though, cute/smooth animation and a story that's easy to sit through 3 times before deciding to write a review)
Would be better if you flipped it horizontally, so when his thought bubble came up it was more intuitive to read
Really good job recreating the style.
Not sure what the point was, but I'm sure it was good practice. His body disappeared when his arm moved. His hand was missing chunks and an outline. His audio was very low quality. Since it's so short and simple, there's no reason not to have nailed all that.
The character design and animation is really nice. I don't think I've seen anything like it, which is a huge plus.
Everything else is kind of a mess, though. It was hard to look at and hard to listen to because the composition was aimless, and the sound quality was low. If you study some film theory (shot composition, editing) you'll have something really, really strong.
Excited to see more!
Great metaphor. I just wish the punchline was stronger.
There's a Fish in the Water Cooler, Charlie Brown!
Love it. Simple but effective. You got a lot of mileage out of the subtle sound effects.
The walls MAY be a bit too bare, but not a big problem. Were the lines done in Animate CC, or Photoshop?
Photoshop! And I was trying to be minimalist with the backgrounds to simplify the style. Glad you love it! :)
